Welcome to my SECOND Sims 3 legacy! I spent over a year and a half following the Halliwell family, documenting their dramatic, and turbulent life. I found the experience so amusing, and enriching, I decided to do it all over again!

You can visit, and read my first legacy here: The Halliwell Legacy

The Sims 3 Legacy Challenge is a long, 10-generation challenge where you start out with a single founder with very humble beginnings and try to lead the family to fame, fortune and success over the course of 10 generations. This challenge was created by an amazing simmer, Pinstar. Pinstar also created this challenge for the Sims 2, and converted the rules to fit the style of the Sims 3. His creation enabled so many simmers around the world to enjoy the game on a different, more interesting level.

I will not be following the traditional rules of a legacy challenge, for the sake of the story. However, I will be following two rules that are different from my previous legacy:

  • I am not following a matriarchy; both male and female sims can be heir
  • I will also follow an alphabetical naming scheme

* * *

This legacy begins with it’s founder, María Cortez.

With passion in her heart, and the desire to start a new life, María safely made her way across the boarder from Chiapas, Mexico to the country-stlyed city of Appaloosa Plains. She hoped to start a new life, in a new country, on a lot she managed to buy with the little savings she had. With the cookbook her grandmother left her before dying, María vowed to become a famous five star chef while founding her legacy.

The second generation begins with Belicia Cortez.

With her mother’s looks, she was deemed the prettiest girl in school. However, Belicia ignored all the attention and focused on her studies. She developed a love for books and writing. A true equestrian at heart, Belicia was given the responsibility of managing the family estate and her father’s horses. Can Belicia become the successful author she dreams of becoming while bringing in the next generation?

The third generation begins with Estefani Cortez.

Growing up with a twin was quite easy and fun for Estefani. She developed a deep bond with her sister, and they went through school inseparable. As a child, Estefani loved food and as a result gained a few extra pounds. However, as a teenager, her weight gain increased and she was subject to bullies at her high school. Life seemed difficult for Estefani until her dead grandmother revealed she had a special gift. With the power to see the dead, can Estefani use her gift for good while bringing in the next generation?

The fourth generation begins with Fernando Cortez.

Fernando lived a very sheltered childhood. His parents shielded him from the harsh realities the Valley had to offer. His parents fought the evil witch in order to break the bargain made decades ago. Once achieving teenage hood, Fernando realized his dream of becoming an international super spy. Can he be the next James Bond while starting a family of his own in order to bring in the next generation?
